It’s that time again. Jamming. You love it, I love it – we all love it.

Dave Balfour
Open jamming means that our host with the most, Dave Balfour, will play all night and will invite people up on stage to join in. It’s a great time for both audience and musicians!
Musicians: Bring your instrument of choice (including drums – small stage sized set please) and approach Dave to quickly let him know that you’re there and you would like to join in on the jam. He’ll do his best to rotate you in if at all possible. This is a great event and is catered to most levels of playing. Jamming is fun and helps build your skills. It’s great when it all gels together and it’s entertaining when it doesn’t (doesn’t happen to often!).
Audience: It’s a Wednesday night, it’s the middle of the week. You’re looking for something to do -maybe meet some friends or take in some entertainment. O’Reilly’s Pub in Perth has your answer. The Open Jamming experience with Dave Balfour is a night of amazing music and it’s all FREE. No cover. The music ranges from classic rock to folk to MILD country to blues to hits of today and beyond. It’s a night of fun and friends, music and mayhem.
The show starts at 8pm so both musicians and audience should arrive early for easier setup and best seating. There is a great food menu and drinks so don’t hesitate to come for supper or snacks and drinks prior to the show!
Thanks and see you there!
Mike

Tim Bastmeyer
Tim Bastmeyer is a Canadian blues singer/songwriter. Tim started his musical career in 1986 and over the years has played and recorded with a number of different recording artists. Tim has performed throughout North America, as well as the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Scotland and England. He has shared the stage with some of Canada’s Juno winning blues players and Grammy winning blues players from The United States.
Playing electric and acoustic guitar, Tim incorporates different styles of blues using finger picking, flat picking techniques, and multiple tunings with slide guitar. This allows Tim to have versatility in his playing. Tim is also a producer, engineer, and music teacher. He has produced award- winning recordings and engineered countless recording projects (music and foley). Tim is currently teaching in Uxbridge, Ontario.
A new album has been released. The self-titled album features eleven new tracks: ten originals , and a version of Going Down by Don Nix. Band members include James Thomson on bass, Corey Richardson on drums, Juno winner Julian Fauth on piano, and Tim on guitar and vocals.

Dave Balfour
Dave Balfour can be forgiven for being Scottish on St. Patty’s Day as he helps O’Reilly’s bring out the Irish in all of us. Wear your finest funniest green apparel and join Dave and friends celebrate. Dave is best known for his wizardry in bringing out the best of the best during the open jam nights, and his rhythm guitar & vocals in local band Guthrie House.

Amanda Rheaume
A powerful vocalist with just a touch of grit and an instantly-accessible roots-pop-Americana sound. Her recent release, “Light of Another Day” is an acoustic-based LP, focused on positivity and moving forward. Amanda is the co-chair of Babes4Breasts, a breast cancer benefit concert, and has just recently returned from a Christmas trip to Kabul Afghanistan to perform for the troops.

Samantha Martin and the Haggard
One of the rising stars in Toronto’s roots-rock scene, Martin and her band can be seen frequently on stage at The Dakota Tavern, Toronto’s most respected Americana/Roots venue. With the release of their self-titled debut album, Samantha Martin and The Haggard in the spring of 2012, the band will be taking their music on the road far beyond Toronto. Co-produced by the band and John Dinsmore (producer and multi-instrumentalist with Kathleen Edwards, NQ Arbuckle, Sarah Harmer), the album boldly traverses deep southern soul, roots/reggae and 50′s rock n roll.
Tribute is paid to musical influences including Otis Redding and Robert Johnson, The Rolling Stones, The Staples Singers, CCR and Patsy Cline; but the album is distinctly Samantha Martin and The Haggard. Few other artists are able to incorporate such broad genres successfully and present a cohesive sound all their own.
“Interesting that she’s coming up at the same time as Etta James has (sadly) passed. Samantha Martin has a voice that stops people in their tracks. Those are rare.” Luke Doucet

Lucas Stagg
Lucas Stagg’s relentless tour schedule has him playing over 300 shows annaully, including two US tours with Brooklyn rockabilly rouser, ‘Guitar Bomb’, and 3 Eastern Canada tours with former ‘Skydigger’, Paul MacLeod. Stagg has been racking up fans in Toronto hot spots such as The Dakota Tavern, Cadillac Lounge, Press Club, and The Local. The Lucas Stagg Band also throw a handful of NYC shows annually at some of the city’s famous clubs; Fontana’s, Hank’s Saloon, and Two Boots.
Paul MacLeod has completed “Bright Eyes Fade”, his third solo record in fifteen years as a professional musician. On paper, three records in a decade and a half doesn’t sound all that impressive, but MacLeod hasn’t exactly been sitting around fiddling with his telecaster and picking out the coolest shirt to wear in his press photos. Paul MacLeod is undoubtedly one of Canada’s most valuable, sought-after, and tenacious singer-songwriters, and when a new record of his emerges, you had better believe that that record is built of sweat and blood and beautiful, heart-shattering songs.

Allison Brown
Sit back and enjoy the musical ride as these 3 lovely women share their musical talents. Travelling from London On & Toronto O’Reillys brings you Allison Brown, Nancy Dutra & Willow Rutherford.
A Souwesto songbird with a big voice Allison Brown likes her religion a little bit gritty, takes her country music with a side of syrup and keeps her folk as dusty as the ol’ cabin floor. With a hatful of broken hearts, bad weather, toils of the road and leaps of faith, Allison’s crafted originals matched with classic roots repertoire reflect the striking conviction she brings to her sweet and powerful singing.
Nancy Dutra’s pure, sweet, soulful voice perfectly complements her poignant songs, giving them a timeless quality. Some of Dutra’s material sounds as if it could have been written 50 years ago but spend some time with this young lady and you discover she is very much a woman of today who is determined to blaze a path that will allow her to perform for new audiences across the country and around the world.
Willow Rutherford was raised in the wilds of Southern Ontario. She once witnessed the tornado that hit Barrie in the ’80′s. Pink insulation, tooth floss, converted rice and hobby horses filled the sky. When her bed landed in a tree, she climbed down and discovered a strange instrument, later informed that it was an accordion. Upon first surprising squeeze, she was hooked and has never looked back. Since then, she has traveled the world writing songs about hysterical love, historical magical realism and nature’s unpredictability…

Morgan Davis
For nearly four decades Morgan Davis has been on the road travelling across Canada, the United States and Europe. His performances draw from a rich tradition of country blues, as well as his own contemporary songs infused with wit and a large dose of humour.
Originally from Detroit, Davis grew up listening to a prolific mix of rhythm and blues. The music of Jimmy Reed, Ike and Tina Turner, Chuck Berry and Fats Domino was in the air. He later moved to California with his family, and then in 1968 left for Canada.
While living in Rochdale College, Toronto’s mecca for the subculture of the late 1960′s, he immersed himself in the study of Delta Blues, especially the music of Robert Johnson.
